Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Update
AFCEA Bethesda continues to monitor and assess new developments pertaining to the Novel Coronavirus through updates from the CDC. The health and safety of our attendees, speakers and sponsors is our top priority.
Due to growing concerns with the novel coronavirus, AFCEA Bethesda has decided to postpone our Young AFCEA Winter IT Luncheon. There is much we are learning about this virus that we do not understand and therefore, we feel that the prudent thing to do is to err on the side of safety for our members, their families and the greater community.
We are working with the National Press Club to secure a new date for the Luncheon and hope to announce the new date soon. We anticipate the event will be held in May or June 2020. All current attendee registrations will be transferred to the re-scheduled event. We strongly encourage attendees to follow the guidance of the CDC for everyday preventative actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses. In addition, we suggest visiting the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control websites, which are constantly being updated with the latest information and tips.
Winter IT Luncheon
The YAFCEA Winter IT Luncheon is an opportunity for government and industry to discuss how we can apply digital transformation best practices and emerging technologies to lead sustainable change and innovation across the government.
During lunch, two federal agency leaders (paired with an industry representative) will be seated at each table to lead a roundtable discussion on one of the following topics: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud and IT Modernization, Cybersecurity, Innovative Acquisition Approaches, User Experience and Human-Centered Design, and Workforce Development and Enablement.
