Stacie Boyd is the Deputy Director for CIT. In this role, Ms. Boyd provides leadership, management, and coordination for CIT's programs, services, and computational service program. She ensures NIH stays current with innovative and unique information technologies and capabilities, and provides reliable and cost-effective services and solutions to the NIH community and other federal customers.
Ms. Boyd collaborates with top-level officials across NIH, the Department of Health and Human Services, and other federal agencies to develop strategies and resolve complex crosscutting technical issues to accomplish NIH’s mission. She is responsible for implementing the IT policies, mandates, and programs put forth by the NIH Chief Information Officer into the systems and services necessary to support computational bioscience and engineering initiatives. In addition, she plans, coordinates, allocates, and assesses CIT resources to best support NIH strategic goals.
Prior to joining NIH, Ms. Boyd was at the National Science Foundation (NSF), where she managed NSF’s $100 million IT portfolio of mission-critical infrastructure, services and initiatives, and a multi- sector technology workforce of 500 people. While at NSF, she led and managed the delivery and performance of agency-wide IT services including network, datacenter operations, software and systems engineering, information security, and help desk support. She established new strategies and approaches for high-quality service delivery through collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, other research agencies, and the broad scientific research community. Based on her successes, she was recognized as one of “DC’s Top 50 Women in Tech” in 2014.
Before joining NSF, Ms. Boyd was at the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget, where she managed a large portfolio of presidential technology initiatives and policy areas. In this role, Ms. Boyd worked with 30 federal agencies to implement government-wide initiatives in broad areas including IT program management, grants management, and interoperable communications.
Ms. Boyd also served in the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Energy, where she provided a wide range of business, information, and program management support. Ms. Boyd holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, both from West Virginia University.
