The LEAPS Community at the Crossroads: Charting a New Way Forward

For the last 11 years, AFCEA Bethesda has brought together the law enforcement and public safety (LEAPS) community each year to facilitate much-needed conversations about the role of IT in meeting the community’s evolving mission. Now the LEAPS event is evolving as well. In addition to the annual event, we are forming a LEAPS Community of Interest, which will work throughout the year to engage LEAPS leaders to understand and address their most pressing challenges. This event will provide input to that group. That process gets underway with our morning panel, when we bring together key officials from across the community to hear firsthand about their most important issues—and then move into break-out sessions where we will delve even deeper. But don’t come to the panel expecting to listen passively: As with the rest of the LEAPS conference, this session will keep things interactive.
